James Palenscar, DVM - Practice Owner
Dr. James Palenscar purchased Carlsbad Animal Hospital in 1991. Dr. Palenscar has since retired from practicing as a veterinarian, but remains involved in the day to day operations of the hospital. Dr. Palenscar grew up in Pasadena and attended Cal Poly Pomona and the University of California, Davis and received his Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science in 1972. He continued his veterinary education at UC Davis and was awarded his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1977.
When he's not working at the hospital, Dr. Palenscar enjoys fishing, golfing and playing steel guitar and spending time with his wife, Karen. He is the proud father of two adult children, Brett and Bryce.
