Hospital administrator Molly Wescoat joined the Carlsbad Animal Hospital Staff in 2004. A native of Maine, Molly has more than 14 years experience in the animal care field. She attended the University of Maine at Presque Isle and majored in Fine Arts and Biology. Molly enjoys working with clients at the hospital and feels rewarded when she helps clients and their pets. Her animal companions include two cats and a Scottish terrier. When she’s not at the hospital, Molly can be found cooking and entertaining for friends, enjoying nature and exploring environmental issues.


A native of Los Angeles, part-time receptionist Gordon T. Menzies joined the Carlsbad Animal Hospital staff in 2005. He is proud to work with the professional, caring staff at the hospital. Gordon attended San Francisco State University and majored in Psychology. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in 1987. Gordon’s animal companions include cats Rufus and Glinda, a dog named Veronica and a number of tropical fish. His hobbies include gardening, baking, bowling and body surfing.


A receptionist at Carlsbad Animal Hospital from 1999 to 2005, Laura F. returned to the hospital in January 2008. She has many years experience working with pets and clients and previously ran her own pet sitting service. Before joining the staff, Laura was a client at the hospital and is proud to work with the friendly, knowledgeable and caring staff. Laura shares her home with her dog, Rudy, who she adopted through the Second Chance Program at the Rancho Costal Humane Society. Her two passions are teaching and animals, and Laura hopes to complete her Multiple Subjects Teaching Credential in order to become a teacher.


A receptionist at Carlsbad Animal Hospital since 2005, Jean Seager grew up in Suffern, New York. Before entering the animal care field, Jean attended the American Airlines Flight Attendant School and received her certification as a flight attendant. Jean loves caring for animals and is glad to be part of the hospital staff. Outside work, Jean enjoys cooking, baking, sewing and creating crafts. She shares her home with two dogs, Benny and Freck.


Administrative Assistant Christina Kimball joined the Carlsbad Animal Hospital team in April of 2010. She has more than ten years of office administration and human resources experience.

Christina says that her work at Carlsbad Animal Hospital allows her to be part of a dedicated team of professionals that are committed to providing the best care and highest level of service to our clients and their pets.

At home she has two Tonkinese cats and a menagerie of Mini-Rex rabbits. Christina adds that when not at work, she can often be seen out and about town with one of her rabbits.


Client Services Representative Michelle Kofford came to work at Carlsbad Animal Hospital in August, 2010. She has five years of experience working with animals, and says she loves being able to provide care for “our loving companions.” Michelle lives with two dogs, a Boston Terrier and a Boxer. She loves to hike and participate in other outdoor activities with friends when she’s not “loving on her puppy dogs.”


Jennifer Hume is a registered veterinary technician who received her California state license in January, 2010. She has been working with animals since 2005, and is an active supporter of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Jennifer appreciates the welcoming and diverse staff at Carlsbad Animal Hospital. She shares her home with three cats, one of which is a Ragdoll cat.


Shana Litwaitis has been a receptionist at Carlsbad Animal Hospital since 2009. She loves animals and enjoys working with the friendly staff. Shana spends her free time doing gymnastics and riding horses. She also enjoys doing puzzles and reading mysteries. Her animal companions include a Siberian Husky, a cat, and a thoroughbred horse.


Nicole Petrovich has been working atCarlsbadAnimalHospitalas a Registered Veterinary Technician for 6 years.  Her initial passion for animals started when she worked at the Bronx Zoo’s Children’s Zoo, where she got to feed and take care of animals ranging from goats to wallabies.  A native New Yorker Nicole went to College inLewisburg,PAatBucknellUniversitybut has been living inCaliforniafor 9 years with no plans of moving back.  In her free time Nicole can be found running along the ocean with her two adorable rescue dogs Zoey and Biscuit, training for her next half marathon, or spending her time in her garden taking care of her chickens.  Even though theCaliforniaweather has spoiled her to the point she can never leave, you can count on Nicole to be cheering for the New York Yankees whenever they are in town!


Registered veterinary technician Suzi Gushansky has cared for pets at Carlsbad Animal Hospital since 2009. She loves working at the hospital because of the friendly staff and caring, knowledgeable veterinarians. Her animal companions include two dogs, Jasmine and Beagle. Suzi is a full-time mom to two wonderful children and she enjoys evening beach time with the family. She also is an avid hiker/runner and she loves to exercise with her dogs. Suzi also enjoys baking and writing children’s stories in her free time.


A Carlsbad native, veterinary technician Lori Freiburger joined the Carlsbad Animal Hospital staff in 1988. At home, Lori enjoys the company of a number of cats and a beagle.


Veterinary technician Victor Araiza has worked in the animal care field for more than 30 years and joined the Carlsbad Animal Hospital staff in 2005. Victor holds a Doctorate in Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine from Mexico and specializes in radiology. Victor enjoys working with the caring staff and likes learning new things about animal care each day. In his spare time, he enjoys boxing, dancing and mechanics. Victor’s animal companions include two Chihuahuas, Pancho and Chispa.


Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) Michelle Ledet has helped care for pets at Carlsbad Animal Hospital since May 2008. Michelle loves working with the talented, compassionate and knowledgeable staff and finds each day at work to be exciting. She has a large family of furry and feathered companions, including cats Flower, Madison, Ozyman and Kinksy and a Conure named Roxy. Michelle is also a member of the Humane Society of America and the San Diego County Veterinary Medical Association. When she’s not at work, studying or hanging out with her pets, she enjoys reading, cooking, camping and fishing.


Veterinary technician Imen Rorholm has helped care for pets at Carlsbad Animal Hospital since 2008. She enjoys working in a progressive veterinary practice and likes making a difference in the lives pets and their people.

Imen’s family includes two dogs, four cats and a cockatiel of unknown origin that literally flew into her life. She is extremely interested and involved in animal and human nutrition and is Royal Canin-certified in nutrition. She is currently studying health through nutrition at a private college.

With two babies and a 10-year-old at home, Imen has very little free time, but she is a volunteer foster mom for the Rescue House, a local cat rescue organization. She also enjoys going for walks in the park with her children and her dogs.


Client Services Representative Joanne Van Horn says she comes to work each day energized by the fact that she gets to work with a great group of dedicated and caring professionals. Joanne joined our staff in September of 2010, but has been working in the animal care field since 1998.

She has two Jack Russell Terriers named Zoie and Bandit and a thoroughbred horse named Remme. Joanne enjoys spending her free time with her family and pets, horseback riding, playing volleyball and gardening.


Client Services Representative Jennifer Hart joined the Carlsbad Animal Hospital staff in October of 2010. She has a Bachelor of Science in Biology with an emphasis in Zoology from San Diego State University. She says that part of the attraction of working with us is the opportunity to work with our professional and knowledgeable doctors and staff.

At home, Jennifer has a mini pot belly pig named Hamilton. She spends her free time running, dancing, listening to music, and going to the park with her Hamilton.
